AMHS confidently serves the majority of sex offenders in Pinellas County having office locations in Clearwater and St. Petersburg. We serve an average of 120 sex offender per month for the last several years. We
currently have 8 men’s groups and one female group per week. We also serve 25 clients in individual
sessions at the time of this writing. AMHS is the only provider in Pinellas county that provides a treatment group for female sex offenders, with an average group size of 9 clients.

The Process

   AMHS schedules all new referrals within 10 days of receiving a client response. All intake assessments and mental health evaluations are completed and forwarded to the supervising officer before the initial appointment. AMHS does not charge for sex offender intake assessments. Our intake assessments include actuarial risk assessment tools including STATIC, STABLE, RISK MATRIX, and CPORT. We utilize many other established methods for our psycho-sexual risk evaluations.
   We also mandate a “passed” sexual history polygraph as a criterion for the evaluation. Our risk assessment tools include the Levinson Victim Empathy Scales; Static-99R; Stable-2007; Acute-2007; MSI-II: Multiphasic Sex Inventory II; PAI Personality Assessment Inventory; Risk Matrik; CPORT; and others as clinically indicated.

   AMHS is the only provider in Pinellas County currently mandating a sexual history polygraph exam for all
clients. AMHS utilizes Metzgar Polygraph Services and Asset Guardian Services both proving exams in Pinellas County.

   AMHS provides sex offender in the program with a Treatment Manuel which outlines all goals and
assignments needed for treatment completion. See Attached.

 

 

 

AMHS works with all clients despite their lack of funds, significance of denial, and difficult presentations.
